Just because a car packs enormous performance doesn’t mean it shouldn’t also be a comfortable, convertible cruiser. Fortunately, with the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible that was just announced, you can have both.
The Camaro ZL1 Convertible packs the same 640 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque as the coupe, yet with the ability to open up the top when the warm weather begs for a nice Sunday cruise. It’s a muscle car that can go toe-to-toe with the best of them at the drag strip, but the only one among its competitors that lets drivers put the top down.
The only downside is that the convertible model will be slightly heavier than the coupe, as expected, but this should only have a small effect on performance. Everything else, from the aggressive styling to the new 10-speed automatic, is exactly the same.
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible was first introduced at the 2016 New York Auto Show and will go on sale late this year at Jansen Chevrolet!
