Even those who work hard to protect us need some protection. That is why Chevrolet has announced new safety options and features in the 2018 Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV). These features can help police officers reduce the severity of or avoid an accident altogether.
“We want to protect our protectors and help them get home safely at the end of every shift,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, GM Fleet. “The safety technologies we are introducing on the Tahoe PPV may serve as a second set of eyes.”
The new option package called the Enhanced Driver Assist Package includes five distinct safety technologies:
- Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking
- Forward Collision Alert
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Safety Alert Driver Seat
- Power Adjustable Pedals
Because police officers are always looking out for others, they might sometimes forget about themselves. These technology features help give police officers extra peace of mind. Additional standard safety features include a Rear Vision Camera, Rear Park Assist, steering wheel-mounted controls, and traction and stability control.
Here at Jansen Chevrolet, we are proud to support our law enforcement officers and think these safety features are a great addition for police protection.
