The Village of Germantown, Illinois is known for, of course, its German heritage, and the city celebrates these deep ties to their cultural roots with a yearly festival known as Spassfest. This year marks the 50th Annual Spassfest, a celebration that will take place on a Saturday evening on February 11th at the Germantown American Legion-Post 325. Come for live entertainment, fun games and contests, and even just hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere of the community of Germantown.
The event is referred to as a Chicken and Beer Dance for a reason, and you can expect lots of food and drink at Spassfest starting from 8 PM until midnight. The doors open at 7, so make sure you get good parking and get to the party on time! Bring your German garb and warm up your voice, too, for contests like Best Yodeler and Best Costume.
It’s $30 to enter, but you can also throw money in for a raffle ticket for cash prizes. You can win anywhere from $100 to $1000! Or, of course, you can just grab a draft or two at the open bar and enjoy the country and rock bands that will be performing.
The 50th Annual Spassfest is sure to be a great time for everyone involved. Come for the food, beer, contests, cash prizes, or even just to kick back and enjoy the show.
